Old Mrs. Vane Knits all day. Whiling the sunlit Hours away. Thomas the cat Plays with the ball, Or lies and blinks. Doing nothing at all. Pigeons abroad In the empty sky, ; Flash bright wings As they hurry by. Flowers lie deep In a noontide dream; i And still her needles Glitter and gleam. I Still the old lady Sits in the sun. Doing her knitting. That never gets done. TOO “CHUMMY’ We have a little puppy named Chummy, and he is such a naughty iittle. thing; ho runs away with our shoes, and when we are playing with our dolls he tries to run away with them.
