DENSE CLOUDS OF BLACK SMOKE issuing from the footpath, accompanied by a number of explosions, attracted a large crowd in Kitchener Street yesterday. The fire was due to the fusing of an underground cable, and was suppressed by the Power Board’s turning off the current.
