MENTAL DEFECTIVE CAUSES UPROAR INK THROWN AT CONSTABLE Frenzied calls for assistance rang j through the corridor of the Magis- j trate’s Court yesterday. A mental defective who had been j waiting to come before a magistrate j had expressed a desire for company in j the small room where he was confined. His request being refused he j created some disturbance by calling j out and generally making a noise. A constable who opened the door found the man with a full bottle of j ink poised in his hand ready to throw, j The constable dashed toward the man j and caught him by the wrist, but in ! the scuffle the ink escaped from the I bottle and flooded down the collar of j the constable’s tunic. The man was brought before the j magistrate and after being pacified j was then removed to the Mental Hospital.
