FISH CHARGES LAUNCH
THRILLS AT MAYOR ISLAND Special to TIIE SUX TAUKANGA, Wednesday. Good sport with the big fish was obtained at Mayor Island by Messrs. G. Hartley and R. Burn, of Wellington, who returned to Tauranga in the launch Naomi last evening. Mr. Hartley captured four swordfish weighing 4101 b. 4011 b, 3941 b and 3301 b. Mr. Burn landed three swordfish, weighing 3751 b, 2641 b, 2681 b and a mako of 2201 b. The larger fish gave thrilling displays. The longest fight was put up by a striped marlin, which broached a* dozen times. One of the swordfish charged the launch as the fish was being worked alongside for the haruooner, and smashed its sword against tho launch, but did not get away. On one occasion, on Monday, both anglers hooked a swordfish simultaneously. Mr. Hartley lost his fish after an exciting 15 minutes, but Air. Burn had the satisfaction of landing his fish after an hour and three-quar-ters. ,
