POLO IN WAIKATO
PERMANENT GROUND SOUGHT INSPECTION OF SITES f rom, Our Oxen Correspondent CAMBRIDGE, Wednesday. This morning the special committee comprising Messrs. D. H. Riddiford. R. L. Levin and Wilder, set up by the Dominion Polo Association to inspect sites in tho Waikato for the provision of a permanent playing field to accommodate Dominion Savile Cup and provincial tournaments, arrived in Cambridge and inspected an area of IS acres of the Cambridge Trotting clubs property. This area is situated in the centre of the racecourse, and lias been offered on leas© to the Provincial Association for a number of years, at a reasonable rental, with the right of renewal for a term of 21 years subject to revaluation. A thorough inspection of the area was made by the committee, which was accompanied by a representative number of officials of the Provincial Polo Association, Matangi, Waihou and Cambridge Clubs, also members of the Cambridge Trotting Club and Agricultural Association. The claims of tho Cambridge site were strongly placed before the committee, and an assurance given that all requirements of a Dominion Savile Cup to.urney would be met. Subsequently the committee left Cambridge to inspect the ground at tho Claudelands course and other sites at Te Rapa. A decision will not be made for. some days.
