Crosbie, H. V. Gribble, W. J. Rowsell, O. M. R. Wharfe, H. J. Sumner, A. G. Richardson, E. J. Adams and Davoren; secretary, Mr. R. Perkins; club captain, Mr. G. Perry; senior captain, Mr. P. H. Golding; vice-captain, Mr. F. Brown: delegates to Pukekohe subunion, Messrs. Ryan and Golding; management committee, Messrs. Ryan, E. J. Campbell, A. G. Richardson, F. H. Golding, R. Perkins, G. Perry and P. Brown. It was decided to enter a senior and a third grade team and to endeavour to field a junior team. PUKEKOHE RUGBY SUB-UNION From Our Own Correspondent PUKEKOHE, Today. The annual meeting of the Pukekohe Rugby Sub-Union was held last evening, Mr. J. Pollock presiding. The report stated that the Ramblers’ Club had carried off the senior championship and the knock-out competition, the High Schol won the junior championship, and White Star proved the winner of the third grade competition. The Pukekohe representative team was responsible for carrying off the South Auckland championship. A third grade competition was inaugurated by the South Auckland Union, and the Pukekohe fifteen was the first winner. As the Roller Mills’ Shield competition for primary schools would be played at Pukekohe, the sub-union ‘asked for the support of officials and others. The balance sheet showed a profit of £ll 17s on the year’s working. The cash balance stood at £ 137 11s lOd.
The insurance fund inaugurated last season was in credit to the extent or £33 6s 6d. , . - The following officers were elected. — Patron. Mr. J. X. Massey, M.P.: president. Mr. J. P. Rae: vice-presidents, Messrs. F. Perkins and H. J. Sumner; secretary, Mr. W. G. Patterson: management committee, Messrs. Ur. C. Ke\ - efl W. E. Johns, C. H. Jemison. H. Curd. S. Marshall, R. E. Butler and G. Davoren: delegates to South Auckland Union. Messrs. Rae and Curd; auditor, Mr. M. S. Campbell; senior selector, Mr. Marshall; junior selector. Mr. Revell; third grade selector, Mr. J. Weston: honorary surgeons, Drs. J. ZSIcAN hirter, A. T. Begg and L. J. F. Bull. It was unanimously agreed to forward a protest to the Auckland Union against the refusal of the Xew Zealand Union to permit the broadcasting of the British matches. Following a discussion, the meeting agreed to recommend the South Auckland Union to revert to the Xew Zealand rules. . At a subsequent meeting ot the Management Committee, the application or the Pukekohe Technical High School Old Boys’ Club for affiliation was granted. REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION The Pukekohe Rugby Referees’ Association’s annual meeting held on Monday evening was presided over by Mr. C. Lauer. Officers elected were:—President. Mr. Lauer: vice-president, Mr. J. Reynolds: secretary, Mr. S. M. Cummins; delegates to' South Auckland Referees’ Association. Messrs. E. Pollock and J. Reynolds: delegate to Pukekohe SubUnion, Mr. H. Pleydell. The possible alteration in rules was discussed at length. It was decided that upon receipt of definite advice from the sub-union to conduct a written examination for referees.
