AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS I Auctioneers report on stock sales held throughout the district during the | past week as follow: ! Alfred Buckland and Sons. Ltd.— During the week we held cattle sales at Westfield, Waiuku, Kumeu, Tuakau and Wellsford, and pig sales at Waiuku and Tuakau. Fair entries of cattle came forward at all centres, and, with the exception of dairy cows and heifers at profit, sold at lower values. There was an extra heavy supply of pigs at Waiuku, and prices were easier. Best dairy cows and heifers at profit brought £l2 10s to £l6; second grade cows and heifers, £8 to £l2; aged and inferior cows and small heifers, £ 3 10s to £ 7 15s; empty young cows and heifers, £3 10s to £5; store and boner cows, £2 to £5 10s; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £7 to £9 15s; lighter fat cows and heifers, £ 5 to £6 17s 6d; fat steers, £lO 10s to £l3 ss: grown steers, in forward condition, £ D 10s to £lO 10s; three to four-year-old steers, £8 to £9 7 s 6d; two to three-year-old steers. £7 to £S; yearling to IS-month-old steers, £5 5s to £6 15s: weaner steers, £3 to £4 2s; weaner heifers, £2 to £4 10s; 18-month to two-year-old dairy heifers, in calf, £6 10s to £lO 10s; other 18-months heifers, £4 10s to £5 15s; cows, with calves, £6 10s to £9; heavy bulls, £6 10s to £8 17s Gd; sound young herd bulls. £5 5s to £lO 10s; other bulls, £ 2 to £5. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. —Sales were held during the past week at Westfield, Pukekohe (cattle and pigs) and Waiuku (pigs). All classes of cattle sold at late values, and there were large entries of pigs, with values inclined to be easier. Quotations: Best dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, £ll to £ls; others, £8 to £lO 10s; backward springers, £6 5s to £8 15s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £3 10s to £6; bulls, £3 to £9 10s, according to weight: store and boner cows, £3 to £5 15s; weaner calves, steers, £ 2 to £4 10s; weaner heifers, £1 10s to £4; heifers, suitable for dairy purposes, £4 10s to £ 7 10s. The advertised Jersey heifers at Pukekohe met with a most successful sale, the 44 head averaging £ll 14s. Yearling to IS-months steers made £5 to £6 17s 6d; 2 to 25-year steers, £7 to £8 10s; 3 to 35-year steers, £8 15s to £9 17s 6d: forward conditioned steers, £lO to £lO 17s 6d. AUCTION NOTES C. F. Bennett, Ltd., will offer the following properties for sale by auction tomorrow, at 12 noon, at their rooms, corner Queen and Shortland Streets:— Two concrete two-storey shops and living accommodation, known as Nos. 449 and 451 Dominion Road, on freehold sections each of 20ft by 120 ft: under conduct of the Registrar of the Supreme Court. No. 14 Dominion Road, comprising two shops 'and billiards room, on leasehold section (lease expiring 1957).
