SAVING WHEAT GROWER

POOL SCHEME PROPOSED IN AUSTRALIA ORGANISATION REQUIRED CANBERRA, Tuesday. A Bill to create a compulsory Australian wheat pool with a guaranteed price for wheat was debated on a motion for its second reading, in the House of Representatives today. The Minister of Markets, Mr. Parker Moloney, emphasised the need for organisation. Otherwise, he said, Australian growers were liable to be squeezed out by world combinations now operating, of which the Government had inside knowledge. Among the objects of the Bill was the regulation of overseas marketing and export, obtaining the best freight terms, appointing oversea agents and regulating trade between the States.
