OLD-TIME SONGS
FAVOURITES RECALLED CONCERT FROM WELLINGTON Those who enjoyed the music-hall songs of 25 years ago had all their old favourites recalled last Saturday fiom 2YA, Wellington. The programme was supposed to be given from an old-time music-hall, and was replete in every detail, even the Coster couple eating winkles being impersonated. All the old favourites were sung, such as “Knocked ’em in the Old Kent “The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo,” “Little Alabama Coon,” and many others. The whole thing was carried out excellently, and gave Sreat pleasure to those who rememthe old songs, while it was also entertaining to those more acdsfttoiried to modern music. ProIftammes such as this do much to Popularise radio, and it is to be hoped that similar programmes will be presented in the future. Perhaps IYA could arrange something of the same nature.
