Mr. A. Harris. M.P. fur Waitcmata, left tor Wellington last evening. Mr. S. Millington, of Wellington, will leave by tiie Niagara today for Canada. The Bev. Lionel IE Fletcher left for the South by the Limited last evening. m Sir Georgo Hunter was a passenger to Frankton, on his way 4m llotoruu, by the Limited express today. Brigadier H. R. Potter and Lieuten-ant-Colonel J. E. Duigan left for the South last evening. Mr. L. E. Rhodes, Mayor of Mount Albert, is suffering from an attack of influenza, and is confined to his home. Mr. W. P. Barnett, New Zealand Tourist representative in Sydney, is on a visit to Auckland. He is at the Royal Hotel. Mr. R. K. Clemow, of the Auckland City engineering staff, has received advice that he has been elected an associate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Mr. Harold Owens, of Auckland, will leave for Sydney by the Makura on Friday to join the Orama for London. He will be absent for about nine months on a business trip. Mr. G. Z. Linley, counting-house manager for Sargood, Son and Ewen, Ltd., at Dunedin, during the past 10 years, has been appointed a director of the company.—P.A. Mr. C. L. Hardio has been appointed Canterbury organiser of the Reform Party. Ho is the son of Mr. C. D. Hardie, librarian at Canterbury College and a former inspector of schools. —PA. Captain IV. V. Park, an air pilot with war experience, who is at present employed by New Zealand Airways at Dunedin, has been appointed pilot-in-structor to the tVairarapa Aero Club. —PA. Mr. F. L. Cunnald. who was for some time postmaster at Morrinsville, and is at present on sick leave, has been appointed postmhster at Paeroa, in place off Mr. A. Fellow, who has been transferred to Te Kuiti. The Leader of the Opposition, the Right Hon. J. G. Coates, will arrive in Auckland from Hastings tomorrow, and will leave later for Dargaville. Accompanied by Mrs. Coates, he will return to Auckland on Saturday to attend the opening of Owairaka Park, at Mount Albert. Mr. L. J. Schmitt, newly appointed New Zealand Trade representative in Australia, who has relinquished his seat on the Arbitration Court. has commenced a. Now Zealand tour. Mr. Schmitt, who will spend the next six weeks in travelling the country, is collecting trade information for use in his new position, and his first visit is to Taranaki.
