GIFT TO SCHOOL COMMITTEE A generous offer by Mr. TV. B. Harlow the representative for Birkenhead on the Waitemata Electric-Power Board, was made recently to the Birkenhead School Committee, through its chairman, Mr. J. Macdonald. The chairman said that Mr. Harlow had offered to the committee his fee of a guinea for attending meetings of the Waitemata Power Board, provided the money was used on work which would help to relieve unemployment in the district. Mr. Harlow’s cheque, for £4O was received at the school committee's meeting last evening. _
