CHEMICAL SOCIETY’S MEETING

“Phosphates and Phosphatic Fertilisers” was the subject chosen by Dr. F. G. Shepheard for his presidential address at the annual meeting of the Auckland Chemical Society at the University last evening. The address dealt with many points of interest to New Zealand agriculturists. A committee was set up to go fully into the question of the formation of a New Zealand Chemical Society. The following officers were elected' President, Dr. F. G. Shepheard: vicepresidents. Professor F. P. Worley and Mr. H. T. Revell: committee, Dr. \V F Short, Messrs. P. R. Parr, F. IT ‘ v" Fielder, N. P. Pitcaithley: secretarv Mr. K. M. Griffin.
