FIGHT WITH LOCUSTS
SWARM INVADES CAPE DISTRICTS FLAME-THROWERS IN ACTION CAIRO, Saturday. Twelve miles long swarms of hungry, flying red locusts have penetrated the Government’s defences in the Sinai desert, crossed the Suez Canal and settled on a cultivated area near Ismalia. The Government has dispatched 140 flame-throwers and 200 tons of liquid destroyer to fight the pests.
