WORLD CONTESTS HELD AT MELBOURNE NEW ZEALANDER ILL Reed. 1.35 p.m. MELBOURNE, Today. The world’s professional running championships have commenced. Cooper (Victoria) is defending his title. McLennan, the New Zealand champion. is unable to compete owing to gastric trouble. \ A. Robertson (Victoria) won both the 75 yards and the 130 yards in seconds and 12 3-5 seconds respectively. Robertson lead with IS points: Hunter (South Australia) is second w ith four points, and Parker (Queensland) third with three points. The 100 yards and 220 yards events are yet to be decided.
