RACING AT MANGERE FIRST SPEEDWAY MEETING Success attended the first motorcycle meeting at Henning’s Speedway. Mangere. which was held on Saturday under the auspices of the North Shore Motor-Cycle and Sports Club. The events were keenly contested bv large fields. All makes and types of machine barked and bellowed alongside one another, as the competitors tuned up. Four women riders took part in the afternoon’s events. Cyril R. Walker put up a remarkable performance in the big event of the day, the Hine Championship. He lapped all competitors but one, just failing in this by a few yards. He covered a lap in 60sec. equal to nearly 75 miles an hour. Later he crashed in cornering at high speed, but was unhurt. The track was in excellent order and contributed much toward the succes of the afternoon. Results: WOMEN’S HANDICAP Three Laps. Miss E.
