CYCLING FATALITY
ELDERLY MAN DIES AFTER INJURIES DEATH AT HOSPITAL In a collision between a bicycle and a motor-car at the corner of Station and Portage Roads, Papatoetoe, shortly before five o’clock yesterday afternoon, Mr. Arthur Loxdale Frost, aged 64, who lived at Landscape Road, Papatoetoe, received head injuries which proved fatal. Mr. Frost was riding out of Portage Road into Station Road, when he was struck by a car, said to have been driven by Mr. William Douglas, of Massey Road, Mangere, which was turning at the intersection into Grey’s Avenue, opposite Portage Road. Mr. Frost was thrown heavily to the ground and suffered a serious fracture of the skull. He was removed to the Public Hospital, but died half an hour after xdmsision. The. deceased, who was a member of a well-known Onehunga family, was predeceased by his wife some years ago. He leaves no family. An inquest was opened before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., coroner, this morning, when evidence of identification was given by Harold William Frost, a dentist, living' at 21 Eastbourne Road, Remuera. The inquest was adjourned sine die.
