MINISTER’S FAREWELL

THE REV. FREDERICK MARTIN The Rev. Frederick J. Martin, of the Devonport Methodist Church, who is to take over the Papakura circuit, preached a farewell sermon at Devonport last evening. He was pleased to say that the happiest relations had always exsited between himself and the members of the congregation, and that in the last three years the progress of the circuit had been maintained. Mr. Martin welcomed the Mayor, Mr. E. Aldridge, and representatives of the Devonport Borough Council, as well as menJbers of the Masonic and Buffalo Lodges, and of the Bowling Club, with which he was associated. Mr. Martin came to Devonport from the west coast of the South Island, but was formerly stationed in the North Auckland areas. The choir, under Mr. F. Beck, sang special music.
