FIRE IN COOL STORES
OUTBREAK AT DUNEDIN FUMES HANDICAP FIREMEN Press Association DUNEDIN. Today. A fiie occurred at midnight on Saturday in the premises of the Otago Dairy Products Cool Storage Company. When the brigade arrived the flames were breaking through the roof and the firemen were greatly handicapped by ammonia fumes. The engine-room. containing the refrigerating plant, was completely gutted, but the produce in the storage chamber was undamaged. The damage was largely structural. The building was insured for £ 19,000 in the State Office, and it is understood that the contents were insured for about £IOO.OOO.
