BUTTER PRICES WEAKER
LOWEST FOR TEN YEARS

A further drop in the London butter market is reported by Auckland representatives of London Tooley Street importers. New Zealand finest grade butter has been sold in London during the past day or so at 1245.
The market is on the lowest levels for many years. Even in the slump of 1921 finest butter did not qo below 1265.
Merchants cables are brief, but fuller information can be expected over the week-end. Cables received this morning are as follow;
Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., from its London Office:—"Sales made yesterday of finest butter at 1245; practically no interest shown in the market." Joseph Nathan and Company, from Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd., London- —“ Butter, 1245. Cheese, white, 755; coloured, 765. Both markets weak.”
