Marsden, secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, is at present visiting die Auckland district. He will return to Wellington next week. Brigadier H. R. Potter, officer commanding the Northern Command, and Lieut-Colonel J. E. Duigan will attend a conference of senior staff officers in Wellington next Wednesday to discuss the question of military training. Mr L. J. Berry, secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association, who is sailing by the Niagara on Tuesday to attend the Empire Press Union Conference in England, will reach Auckland this evening and will stay at Hotel Auckland. Mr A. P. Duthie, of Dunedin, arrived at Auckland by the Kia Ora from a business trip to Patagonia, the Argentine, Chile and Peru. He left New Zealand in December, in charge of a large consignment of stud sheep and cattle, which Dalgety and Company, Limited, sent to Patagonia.
