A NURSERY RHYME GAME
You all know the different characters of nursery rhymes, of course, and probably love them all very much. Why not have a lovely game, one day all about the jolly nursery rhyme people? It'll be better when there are a number of you to • play. You can quite as easily play it in the shelter of the playground as you can in the room of your own home. One player is sent out —or away—and while he is gone you think of one particular nur sery rhyme. Suppose you decide on Red Riding Hood. Well, the odd player is recalled and starts asking questions, and you must answer something about Red Riding l-lood, but not too clearly. Suppose he says, “Is he a nice little boy?” you could answer “She is a nice girl.” This, of course, gives him the clue that it is a girl, not a boy. He might say, “Did she go for a walk?” \ and you’d answer, perhaps, “She paid a visit.” I-le is only given three actual chances to guess. If he doesn’t guess the nursery rhyme in three attempts, he has to start all over again, and you think of another nursery rhyme favourite. If, however, he does guess, the player who gave him -the nearest clue takes his place, and you start all over again.
