ANNUAL MEETING OF TE PUKE BRANCH Mrs. C. Perrins - , president, occupied the chair at the annual meeting of the Te Puke branch of the Plunket Society, held in the town board office on Tuesday. The balance sheet, which showed the financial position of the branch to be very satisfactory, was adopted, the secretary, Mrs. W. Ryburn, being congratulated on the manner in which she had attended to the many duties attached to the position. Officers elected for the ensuing year were: President, Mrs. C. Perring; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. A. Ryburn; committee, Mrs. Fagan, Mrs. Saunders, Mrs. Wickham, Mrs. Gemming, Mrs. Cummings. Mrs. Dare, Mrs. H. Webber, Mrs. Washer, Miss Chappell, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Earp, Mrs. Hickson. It was suggested to hold card parties to raise funds, also a chrysanthemum exhibition. TAUMARUNUI BRANCIT. j At the monthly meeting of the Tauj marunui Plunket Committee Airs. A. ' W. Ring presided. Alesdames Gordon, j Aloore, Craig, Hutton, Hall, Powell, | Boles, Conlan, Richter, Ford, Anderson, i Holford, AlcLeod, Alisses O’Connor and j Burnand were present. Alesdames ! Johnston, Norton and Street forwarded ; apologies for their absence. I The nurse’s report showed a busy i month. A total of 170 visits had been ! paid to the Taumarunui office, 51 to the I Ohura office. Visits to homes and to headquarters, 06; to out-stations, 84. The report included statistics regarding several premature infants sent to Karitane, Auckland. Advice was received from the head office explaining the new arrangement covering Dr. Derrick’s salary, and noi tifying that the branch’s share would I be £ 5 Is 3d. It was resolved to place on record a I vote of thanks to the retiring secrel tary, who has agreed to remain in office j till her place, is filled.
WOMEN’S PROGRESS CLUB The Women's Progress Club held its weekly meeting yesterday afternoon at the Higher Thought Temple. After the usual announcements, Mrs. Grace Silcook, president of the club, gave a very instructive address on the “Six Rules for a Healthy Body.” Afternoon tea Was served
