VISIT AS GOVERNMENT GUEST • HIS SHIP IN CYCLONE Press Association DUNEDIN, Today. Rear-Admiral R. E. Byrd has radio rdviee that for 30 hours the City of New York has been hove to in a fierce cyclone. The admiral’s departure has been deferred for a further fortnight. Accommodation for him and his suite is being obtained on the Rangitiki, which leaves Wellington for Panama on April 34. Rear-Admiral Byrd leaves here on Monday for Christchurch and Wellington, aud expresses delight at being able, in person, to thank the New Zealand Government and the Wellington Harbour Board for the great assistance given. After going to Wellington, RearAdmiral Byrd will visit Rotorua as a Government guest, later returning to Dunedin to complete his business. He.ha* consented to give here a moving picture lecture on his Arctic and Antarctic flights, in aid of the obstetrical endowment fund.
