ALL OR NOTHING
BRITAIN WILL NOT GIVE WAY TO EGYPT CONCEDED ENOUGH ALREADY United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 8.40 a.m. LONDON, Wed. Though strict official reticence is being observed of the exchange between the British and Egyptian delegations, it is learned that there is not the slightest prospect of Britain receding from the terms laid down. There will be no piecemeal variations. It is to be a case of all or nothing. Otherwise the conditions of the 1922 Declaration, with reserved points, will be reverted to. In that case, the proposed withdrawal of troops from Cairo to the canal zone, which is already viewed askance in the Dominions, would not be carried out.
It is also learned that safeguarding the canal , would he the last thing on which further concession would be wrung from Britain.
