SOVIET CHANGES NAMES IN RUSSIAN TOWNS ANTI-GOD CAMPAIGN RIGA, Monday. The towns of Sergievo and Bogorodsk—the former recalling St. Sergius and the latter meaning “Our Lady’s town” —have been renamed Sagorsk and Noginsk in honour of Communist celebrities. The changes are part of the Soviet’s anti-religious campaign.
