Mr. W. Nash, M.P. p Labour member for Hutt, arrived by the Limited express today.
The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of Health, will leave on Friday for the Bay of Islands district. Mr. W. A. Martin, manager for New Zealand of the National Mutual Life Association, is staying at the Grand Hotel. The Hon. J. G. Coates, Leader of the Opposition, will arrive from Dargaville this afternoon and will leave for Taihape by the Limited this evening. Mr. F. C. Brew, lecturer in Teaching Method at the Auckland Training College, has been appointed vice-princi-pal of the Wellington Training College. Mr. I>. F. Moncur, general manager of the Canada Tyre and Rubber Company, Limited, is leaving on April 8, l.y the Niagara, .on a visit to the Canadian factory. Mr. Russell K. Owen, the “New York Times” representative with Rear-Admiral Byrd’s expedition to the Antarctic, arrived in Auckland by the Limited express today. He is staying at “Glenalvon,” Waterloo Quadrant. Professor J. R. Brown, of Wellington, Professor J. Hight, of Christchurch, and Professor H. W. Segar, of Auckland, have been elected to represent the Academic Board of the University of New Zealand on the University Senate. Captain J. G. C. Wales, adjutant of the Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, who was in camp at Trentham with the military police force training for Samoa, has resumed duties at the Auckland headquarters. Captain F. L Hunt, formerly of Dunedin, who acted as adjutant during Captain Wales’s absence, has been appointed relieving adjutant of the North Auckland Regiment in place of Captain A. de T.
