LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY

CONCERT CHAMBER THIS EVENING A considerable amount of interest awaits the production of “The Man They Buried,” Karen Bramson’s remarkable play, which will be presented by the Auckland Little Theatre Society at the concert chamber, for the first time this evening:. It is a play of entirely different character apparently to what we are accustomed. It is a daring: piece of work, and is certain to cause a sensation in dramatic circles. It would not be in the best interests of those who intend witnessing this play to tell them the plot, but this much may be said —that in her comedy of fear, Karen Bramson gives us a picture of a medican man who believes that he is condemned to die. He then wanders around Paris to all kinds of weird places, meeting a number of weird and interesting people—a clairvoyante, a murderer, a statesman, a philosopher, a beggar, women of doubtful character, and many others. He returns to his home to undergo an operation, which he has little doubt will be successful. The climax of the play is possibly the most interesting feature in this brilliant work. The presentation will be an ambitious one, as there are 22 speaking parts, and eight scenes—an effort that will tax our local players to the utmost. The presentation will be repeated every evening this week.
