ART DRAWS A CROWD
OVER HALF MILLION SEE LONDON EXHIBITION GOVERNMENT CELEBRATES British Official Wireless RUGBY, Sunday. The Government gave a banquet last evening to celebrate the success of the Italian Art Exhibition, which was visited by more than 500,000 people. Lord Parmoor expressed the deep gratitude of the Government and people of Britain to the Italian Government and to all others who had made the exhibition possible. It had brought together work of Italian art from private and public sources, chiefly from Italy, but also from all parts of the world. The museums of France, Germany, Hungary, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, the United States and Canada had also lent of their best. The Italian Ambassador announced that his King and Government had conferred upon Lady Chamberlain, chairman of the exhibition committee, an Italian gold medal.
