TOO BUSY NOW
CHIEF JUSTICE BENEFITS FROM FRIEND’S WILL SIR ADRIAN KNOX RESIGNS SYDNEY, Monday. Sir Adrian Knox, Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, has resigned and Sir Isaac Isaacs has been appointed to fill the vacancy. Having benefited very considerably under the will of an intimate friend who died recently, Sir Adrian says he has become involved in a business carried on in Australia. The position thus created is incompatible with his retention of any judicial office. Sir Adrian was one of the most intimate friends of the late Mr. John Brown, colliery proprietor. Prior to becoming Chief Justice, Sir Adrian, was a prominent figure on the Australian turf and for many years was chairman of the Australian Jockey Club.
