DECREASE IN BIRTHS
FIGURES FOR PAST MONTH Births and marriages decreased in Auckland during March compared with the corresponding month last year, deaths showing a slight increase. Births fell from 242 in 1929 to 226 and marriages from 226 to 202, deaths increasing from 116 to 120. The number of marriages performed by the registrar last month was 49 compared with 47 in March, 1929.
