OVER THE STICKS GOOD NOVICE JUMPER Essays over the' schooling hurdles point to Respirator being a decided acquisition to the ranks of jumpers, and his debut at AVhangarei on Thursday AA'ill be folloA\cd with the greatest interest. Respirator has shown fair galloping ability on occasions this season, his best effort, perhaps, being it Pukokohe a month ago. when he took part in the triple dead-heat in the last event of the day. Respirator gave further illustration of the progress he has made in his education in a bout at Ellerslie on Saturday, being accompanied by Quincoma and Kameliameha, and at the outset the big-striding son of Tea Tra> set a fairly strong pace and jumpec confidently. There are few horses good enough to win over hurdles at the first time of asking, and on this account J .M. Buchanan’s candidate may he held safe by others to race at Kensington Park on Thursday. Hut if his schooling lessons are repeated he will be a good ride for jockey H. Dulieu. SIR MOND KNOCKS HIMSELF Sir Moral was scratched for all engagements at the AVhangarei meet- . ing as a result of having struck himself during a gallop yesterday morning.
