A SEA LAWYER
STORY WAS TOO THIN WELLINGTON, Today. Described as a sea-lawyer, Arthur Caddy, 31, a fireman on the Raranga, put up a vigorous defence when he appeared in company with a ship’s storeman, John David James Ware, 32, on charges of embezzling goods at Picton. The magistrate said he was satisfied the story was too thin and sentenced each to three months’ imprisonment.
