VICE-REGAL VISIT

LORD AND LADY BLEDISLOE ARRIVE TOMORROW RECEPTION ARRANGEMENTS Dol'd Bledisloc, Governor-General of New. Zealand, and Dady Bledisloe, wKI pay their first visit to Auckland tomorrow. They will arrive from Wellington by the Limited express at 9.34 a.m., aceompaniecl by their staff, and will take/up their residence at Government House until Wednesday evening, when they will leave by express at 7.10 p.m. for Wellington. Portion of the arrival platform at the railway station will be roped off, and in this enclosure his Worship the Mayor and other officials will meet their Excellencies. Official motor-cars will proceed via Breakwater Road and Quay Street into Queen Street. In front of the General Post Office a space extending the whole length of the building and the width of Queen Street will be roped off and reserved for the guard of honour of the Auckland Grammar School Cadets, which his Excellency will inspect before proceeding immediately to Government House. All traffic will be suspended in Queen Street between Customs Street East and West, and Quay Street tomorrow morning between 9.15 and 10 a.m. A public reception will be tendered to Lord and Lady Bledisloe in the Town Hall at 5.15 p.m. His Worship the Mayor will preside. An address of welcome will be presented to his Excellency by the Mayor on behalf of the citizens. Musical items will be supplied by the city organist, Mr. Maughan Barnett, and by the Auckland Municipal Choir. Tomorrow afternoon their. Excellencies will be motored round the city and suburbs. On Wednesday their Excellencies will visit the hospital, the infirmary, the Veterans’ Home, the Evelyn Firth Home and other institutions, and to such places of scenic interest as may be convenient.
