TRAGEDY IN WELLINGTON COMPANION INJURED Press Association WELLINGTON, Sunday. j Mrs. L. Hampden and Miss R. j Clark, who reside at 7 Vennell Street,; were knocked down by a motor-car' outside the Government buildings at about 6.30 on Saturday evening. Mrs. Hampden received a fractured j skull, a fractured ankle, lacerated j scalp wounds and concussion. She j died in Wellington Hospital at 8.30 j this morning. Miss Clark escaped with injuries to j the arm, although she is suffering 1 from shock.
