Bright Function at Rotorua
MILITARY DANCE FIRST BATTERY ENTERTAINS A most enjoyable dance was he id at the Majestic Ballroom, Rotorua, last Friday evening, by the officers, non-commissioned officers and men of the Ist Battery, a large number of dancers being entertained. Shalfoon's Alelody Boys provided excellent music and spot light, streamer and Alonte Carlo dances added to the attractions of the evening. Lt. R. Turnbull, Battery Commander, in a speech thanked the people of Rotorua for their hospitality. Special thanks was given to Mr. and Mrs. F. White, for their assistance in arranging the dance. Officers present were:—Alajor Allies, N.Z.S.C., Capt. Duff, N.Z.S.C., Squad-ron-Leader Isitt, Capt. Fear, Capt. Will, Sergts. R. Turnbull, W. Wilson, K. Usted, F. Graham and Johnson. The committee comprised SergtAlajor Muskett, Sergt. Lunn, Sergt. Easson, the secretary being L-ieut. W. Wilson. The hall and supper-room were
decorated with battery banners and flags, while the tables were decorated with the battery colours in ribbons and flowers. The winners of the Alonte Carlo dance were Aliss S. Manson and Private T. Burns. Among the dancers present were: Air. and Airs. R. Cook, Air. and Airs. W. Walker, Air. and Airs. Hollis, Airs. Miller, Airs. Muchamore, Air. and Mrs. F. White, Airs. Knowles, Alisses J. and D. Hodgson, Aston, Rushton, Ah Bates, O. Schultze, ATcGratb, Owens (2), Higgins, E. Stewart, V. Steele, E. Sharp, J. Geisen, Holland (2), AI. Cooney, E. Clarke, J. Carter, Lewis (2), E. Dodson, G. Dodson, Dido, D. Thompson, Apps, G. Savage, A. Hill, Worrall (2), Keighley, T. Williams, Tillas, Harper-Nixon, R. Brown, Downey (2), AVelsh, R. Kennell, J. Davis, J. Tyson, D. Archer, R. Alanson, O. Alanson, S. Manson, Auberton, Linsay, Gordon, Simpson, Alunson, Lawson, Matthews (2), and Birge (2).
