SNOWBOUND
CHICAGO’S TRANSPORT UNDER SOLID ICE PEOPLE LOCKED IN HOMES CHICAGO, Wednesday. The city of Chicago is paralysed by the fall of snow which accompanied yesterday’s blizzard. In some places the snow lies IS inches deep. Thousands of people are snowbound in their homes or offices. Transportation is completely demoralised. Tlie surface car facilities are snowed under and more than 20,000 men have found it impossible to make a dent in the deep-packed snow on the tracks. Policemen are guarding all the transportation stations in order to prevent crowding, which caused many people to be injured yesterday.
