PONSONBY CARNIVAL
TO BENEFIT SCHOOL CHILDREN With the object of raising funds for a dental clinic and for swimming instruction for the pupils of the four schools in the 'district, the Ponsonby District Schools’ Committee will hold a combined carnival in the grounds of the Curran Street School on Friday, April 4. It is considered that in this way the personal appeals to parents for contributions will be obviated, and to m" ke the carnival a success and to realise this aim, the committee asks the cooperation of all parents and friends in the district. A number of stalls will be arranged, and gifts of fancy goods, produce, flowers and plants, etc., will be welcome. The list of attractions is comprehensive, the children taking part in a fancy dress parade, drill displays, pushball matches, folk-dancing, football in sacks, blindfold boxing, as well as in other sports events. The carnival will commence at one o’clock in the afternoon and the cornmil tee expects parents to extend their patronage and make the afternoon a success from both a financial and attendance point of view.
