“DEVIL MAY CARE” Ramon Novarro appears in his first talking part in “Devil May Care,” which is now in its last days at the New Regent Theatre. The story deals with the adventures of a young supporter of Napoleon during the period of his exile at Riba. He is condemned to death for plotting to i restore the Emperor, but manages to j escape by taking refuge in a young lady’s bedroom. His subsequent I adventures form the basis of an exciting plot ! The supporting features are of an j interesting nature, including an amusing comedy and a number of musical items. A. 11 is not gold that glitters and being j a leading man for Joan Crawford has ! its penalties. At least Robert Mont- ; gomery had to pay for the privilege, | and heavily, in Miss Crawford’s first big all-talking starring vehicle, "Uni tamed.” which opens on Tuesday a* j the Regent Theatre. | The young juvenile lead, who will be I remembered for his fine performance ;in “So This Is College,” fights Don J Terry in the drawing room of his I fiance’s home during a big party in “Untamed.” Girls in silks and bare hacks are the “seconds.'’ Sporting enthusiasts will get a thrill out of this sequence, as Don Terry is none, other than Bobbie Dinsmore, one time light heavy-weight champion of England. “Untamed.” adapted by Willard Mack, is a story of a girl brought up in a Central American jungle. On her way to civilisation she falls in love with the first white young man she ; meets—and stays in love. The cast i includes Ernest Torrence, Holmes i Herbert, Robert Montgomery, John | Milijan. Gwen Lee. Tom O’Brien. Grace I Cunard. Don Terry.
