MR. JAMES CLARKE ! Mr. James Clarke, who died yester- | day at Kemuera, at the age of 90, was born in Suffolk and came to New Zealand with his wife in the ship Miltiades, arriving in Auckland in ! 1874. For many years he was en- | gaged in his work as an orchardist and landscape gardener and was also employed in the survey branch of the Public Works Department. Mr. Clarke retired from business 22 years ago, and with the exception of : a short residence in the Waikato uisj trict. he lived in Auckland until his death.
