In the Legislative Council Mr. Coates drew attention to an allegation that he and three other Labour members, Messrs. Ryan, Mahony and Percival, were concerned in the receipt of £SOO graft money to secure the defeat of the Transport Bill. They denied the accusation and asked that a commission of inquiry be appointed. The Attorney-General replied that if sufficient facts were adduced an investigation would be ordered.
