SOVIET’S REQUEST
SEEKS CONSUL FOST IN AUSTRALIA SCULLIN’S REPLY Reed. 12.20 p.m. CANBERRA, Today. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. H. Scullin, explains that the Soviet has asked through the British authorities whether the Commonwealth would object to the appointment ,of a Rus siau representative in Australia. He replied that such consular agent would be received subject to the usual undertakings regarding propaganda.
Australia had no intention of seek ing official representation in Russia.
