CLOSER SETTLEMENT
TWO MORE ESTATES BOUGHT Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The acquisition by the Government of two more properties for closer settlement purposes was announced today by the Minister of Lands, the Hon. G. W. Fovbes. The Minister stated that the purchase had been completed of tho Awamate property, six miles from Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay. It consisted of 672 acres of excellent quality' land, very suitable for dairying. Subdivided the* land would provide from six to eight farms In the vicinity* of Hamilton a small : group proposition had been entered 1 into. An area of 423 acres had been acquired and two dairy farms pro-
vided on the group settlement basis -Both are good dairying propositions.” said the Minister, “and I am sure they will be readily availed of.”
