MIX-UP AT DANCE

TWO OFFENDERS GAOLED DISTURBANCE AT OPOTIKI From Our Oicn Correspondent OPOTIitI, Today. A general mix-up at a dance last evening resulted in three men appearing at the Police Court this morning. The police stated that the men arrived at Opotiki yesterday afternoon from Taneatua and started drinking. They tried to push their way into a dance and a light followed. Jack Francis, Patrick Carey and George White were charged with behaving in a disorderly manner while drunk and also with using obscene language. Harry Harris was charged with disorderly behaviour while drunk. The accused pleaded guilty on all charges. Carey and White were convicted on the first charge and were sentenced to 3 4 days on the second charge. Harris was convicted and discharged. The police stated two of the offenders -were Australians who had only been in the country a few months.
