“THE LOVE PARADE” Only two more days remain of the season at the Strand Theatre of ‘‘The Mighty,” starring George Bancroft. “The Mighty” is the story of a gangster, forced into the war, coining up a hero and made police chief of one of the nation’s largest cities. He meets a girl who knows his past yet trusts him. When the moment comes in which he must decide whether he is for or against the “mob” he decides and that is where a particularly thrilling scene comes. Esther Ralston, Raymond Hatton, Warner Oland and O. P. Heggie are also in the cast. The first original operetta to be produced on the talking screen, is Paramount’s all-talking, singing and dancing picture. “The Love* Parade,” starring Maurice ChevaHer, which will be seen at the Strand Theatre next Saturday. “The Love Parade” is from the play. “The Prince Consort,” by Ernest Vadja, author of “Sally,” “Hit the Deck.” and other famous musical comedies. Guy Bolton wrote the libretto; and Victor Schertzinger composed the musical score. The songs, specially written for the picture, include “Tha Love Parade,” "Anything ta Please the Queen,” a duet sung by Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald; “My Dream Lover,” a solo bv Miss MacDonald; “Paris Stay the Same,” a Chevalier solo; “Let’s Be Common,” a comedy duet by j Lupino Lane and Lillian Roth, and the enchanting chorus number, “Song of j the Grenadiers.” PLAZA “THE COCK-EYED WORLD” Onlv two more days remain in the session of “The Cock-Eyed W orld.” the all-talking Fox Movietone film, which has had such a long and successful run at the Plaza Theatre. Edmund Lowe and Victor McLaglen who made screen history as Quirt and Flagg in “What Price Glory,” are still the same two boys, though the period of the picture is ten years after the Armistice. "The Cock-Eyed "■orld is based on a story by Laurence Stallings and Maxwell Anderson, with scenario by Walsh and dialogue by Eillv K. Wells. The supporting cast is truly of the all-star calibre, with such favourites as El Brendel, Jean Bary. Lelia Kamelly. Bobby Burns Joe Brown, Solidad Jirmez, and hv Linow prominent. On Saturday the Plaza will present an entirely new programme, of which one of the’ chief attractions will be an uproarious comedy by Glenn Tryon entitled "Skinner Steps Out. E H. Calvert, for many years an arm'v officer before resigning to go on the stage, has been added to the supporting east of “Only the Brave Gary Cooper's next Paramount talkie.
