MINISTER OPENS ANNUAL CONFERENCE “MUST NOT BE PANICKY” Press Association v DUNEDIN, Today. The 17th antmiul conference of the United Commercial Travellers’ and '' arehousemen s Association opened this morning:. Mr. F. W. Mitchell, of Dunfdin. presiding. The Hon. W. R. Taverner, Minister of Railways, opening the conference, declared that members, should not be panicky because times were a little trying. There was sufficient money to rinance all legitimate ventures and a rest from speculation would do the I country good. Support for Dominion trade first and Empire trade next ! would help them through. | The Minister expressed a sinorete ! hope that: the Government coifhi assist j them in any difficulty.
