HAWKE CUP CRICKET
HOLDERS BAT WELL RANGITIKEI OUT FOR 177 Press Association PALMERSTON N., Today. The Hawke Cup cricket match between Manawatu, the holders, and Rangitikei, began yesterday. Rangitikei won the toss and batted first, scoring 177. Manawatu had made 77 for the loss of one wicket when stumps Were drawn for the day. When play was resumed this morning Manawatu continued its first innings. McVicar and Pacey soon brought up the century for one wicket. Manawatu had scored at luncheon six for 162.
