EXPORT VALUES FALL
RESULT OF DECREASE IN i WOOL PRICES IMPORTS SHOW INCREASE j Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. j Exports from New Zealand during February were valued at £5,624,830, or over two millions less than those | for the corresponding period of last ! year. The imports had an upward tendency, with a total of £3,968,218, which sum exceeds that for February, 1929, by over two millions. The balance, therefore, is in favour of the Horn in ion to the extent of £1,656,618 on the month’s oversea trade. The exports for January and February this year totalled £12,002,689, as against £16,506,014 for the corresponding months last year. This decrease is attributed largely to the prices of wool and to the unusually large j amount of wool in store. From August 1, which may be regarded as the beginning of the export , season, the exports for the seven ' months are less than those for the previous season by £4,552,926, while the imports have increased by £ 1,659,505.
