MR. R. STEVENS A well-known settler of the iManawatu district, Mr. Robert Stevens, h: died in Palmerston North at the age of 80. He was an experienced stockman and a, capable judge, trainer and rider. He is survived by his wife and family. MR. WILLIAM DOUGLAS A well-known settler, Air. William Douglas, died at Waiuku on Sunday at the age of 90. Born in Scotland. Mr. Douglas came to New Zealand with his parents and family in the sailing ship Anne Wilson in 1863. Alter a time he settled at Kohekohe and had lived tlrere ever since. He is survived by five sons and three daughters. MR. E. A. GOODGER Mr. Ernest Albert Goodger, who died yesterday at Waipukurau at the ; i se oL' 51, hud lived there for 20 years. He hud been Mayor for eight years as well as filling various public posi- j tions. Mr. Goodger stood against Sir George Hunter for the Walpawa elec- ! torate in 1928 as an Independent can- : didate. Ho is survived by his wife j and two sons. MRS. J. F. C. BUCHANAN ■ Mrs. Catherine Grace Buchanan, wife j of Mr. J. F. C. Buchanan, of Devonport, who has died at the age of 61, j was born in Ballarat and came to New j Zealand with her parents at t!i early age She had lived in Whangarei, Auckland and Mew Plymouth, before settling in Devonport 17 years ago. ! iirs. Buchanan is survived bv her husband, one son and four daughters. MRS. M. CUMMINGS Airs. Annie Cummings. an early settler of the Tauranga district, who has died at the age of 80, was born in Glasgow and spent most of her childhood in Tasmania, coming to New Zealand in 1863 with her step-father, who served in the Alaori Wars.
