FEBRUARY EXPORTS
A BIG DECLINE IMPORTS INCREASE New Zealand’s exports fell away by £2.430,000 in February. The January exports showed a decline in value of £2,000,000. Exports for the two months totalled £12,003,000 compared with £16,506.000 for the corresponding period last year. February’s exports amounted to £5,624,836. Last year they amounted to £8,056,083, but this was a remarkably good month. This year’s total exceeds that of both 1926 and 1927' for February. Imports for February amounted to £3,968,218 compared with £3,678,543 last year. The net increase in imports for the two months was £162,000. The figures for the months of* January and February in tlfe last two years are shown in the following table. It will be noticed that there was a decrease in exports and an increase in imports: Two Months. 1930. 1 9 29.
