SHOT HIS WIFE DEAD
YOUNG MAN IN SYDNEY TO FACE GALLOWS CASE BEING CONSIDERED SYDNEY, Monday. Sidney Solomon, aged 26, was found guilty today of having murdered his wife Roma, aged 22, at Parramatta on December 28. He was sentenced to death. The jury made no recommendation to mercy/ but the condemned man’s case is to be considered by the Executive Council.
For some time prior to the crime Solomon and his wife had been separated. On December 28, the husband went to his father-in-law’s house at Parramatta. He had an interview with her and an altercation ensued. The woman ran out into the road screaming for help. Solomon followed her and fired a volley of shots at her. Airs. Solomon fell riddled with bullets. The arrest of the husband was effected shortly afterward.
